The 2009 underground diamond drilling program was completed in the third quarter. The 144 zone has been extended to the north, west and south, and high grade gold mineralization has been discovered in the latite dike that divides the 144 zone from its east extension. A total of 35 holes totaling 9,965 feet were drilled. The results of this drill program will be incorporated into the geologic model of the 144 zone, followed by an update of the gold resource estimate. A study will then follow to investigate whether the resource is sufficient to reopen the Sterling gold mine. Our own crews are currently extending the underground workings to facilitate additional exploration and the start of mining. The Sterling gold property is located 114 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. Selkirk Metals Corp.

Outlook--With favorable metal prices, tempered somewhat by a strengthening Canadian Dollar, Imperial has been able to generate cash flow to fund an aggressive exploration program which includes drilling at Red Chris, Mount Polley, Sterling and Huckleberry.

REWARD MINE (carrara)

The Bureau of Land Management has released a record of decision and finding of no significant impact for the Reward Gold Project. This decision substantially completes the permitting process at the Federal level. The Company is working with State agencies to finalize reclamation bond calculations and various minor permits. The State has issued several significant permits including the air pollution, water pollution control, artificial pond, and the water point of discharge permits.

THE FUTURE FOR BEATTY

For the first time in history, more people live in the city than live in the country. The challenge, therefore, is to provide a getaway to escape from the city to a more relaxing, educational and fun place so they may survive in the urban chaos. Beatty already has everything to fulfill those needs. The challenge is to bring Las Vegas residents to Beatty. The new BTAB should hire an advertising company that will run ads in Vegas designed to show the fun that is here. The 'Girls Club' wastes money on signs that try to make tourist who are heading to Death Valley, come through Here. These tourists are going 80 miles an hour when they pass these signs. Can they read them or even see them? The money should be spent for signs and TV and radio directed to educate people to come here. This is, I believe, the challenge for the 'new' BTAB.

Skeletal remains found in Death Valley may belong to one or more of the four German tourists who vanished in searing summer heat 13 years ago, authorities say. Two hikers discovered the bones last week in a remote area of the famous Mojave Desert park. The hikers were search-and-rescue workers from Riverside County but they were off duty at the time, Inyo County sheriff's spokeswoman Carma Roper said. Identification for one of the missing tourists was found near the bones, she said. "We're fairly certain" that the remains are those of one or more of the long-missing visitors, Roper said. However, formally identifying the remains will be a long process, she said. The cause of death also must be determined.

The four who vanished in the 3-million-acre wilderness on July 22, 1996, were Dresden residents Cornelia Meyer, 27; her 4-year-old son, Max; her boyfriend, architect Egbert Rimkus, 34, and his 10-year-old son, Georg Weber. They had arrived in the United States earlier in the month and were touring in a Plymouth Voyager minivan rented in Los Angeles. They checked out of a Las Vegas hotel room on July 22 and arrived in Death Valley the same day, records indicated Temperatures in the park that week had topped 120 degrees.

Open Letter to Bob Redland
Mr. Redland, I saw once again your derogatory remarks regarding the BGlD in last weeks “rag”. I have spent 65 years of my life in this community Mr. Redland and I assure you that I have taken my turn volunteering on the various boards and committees that contribute to the overall welfare of this wonderful little community of ours. This is a relatively small place where everyone seems to know everyone. Since no one seems to know who you are I can only assume you are one of those idiots from California that we really don’t care to have. We all know them; they show up from time to time and seem hell bent on trying to tell us how to run our little town. How do I know you’re an idiot? Because you can’t write, and you can’t spell, so clearly you’re uneducated. You’re full of opinions; you know we all have them. Oddly enough you’ve never shown up to volunteer at a meeting, or to pick up a shovel! I say put your money where your mouth is Mr. Redland, there have been 2 vacancies on the board you dislike so much and 1 opening for an employee. If they are doing such a poor job, do something about it beside just bitch!
The park looks wonderful, this board is not only proactive but they are creative and productive. The park looks better than it has in years, in order for change to

happen any idiot knows that it takes time and energy and a plan, and that is exactly what this board has been doing.
I’d like to invite you to coffee Mr. Redland; I’d love to meet you in person to see just what kind of fella you really are. You have loads to say via paper, but quit being a coward and show yourself. Better yet, come to a BGlD meeting and introduce yourself. Maybe you have some ideas that would be helpful to the board. If not, shut the hell up. If you can’t be a productive member of this community go home.
In this community most people work together for one goal. Today when you drive by the park the lights are beautiful, the new benches and tables are wonderful. So much has been done by this board that is positive. You pick at ridiculous things like a load of dirt brought in for a job in progress. People like you are a cancer, you always have something to complain about but you can never see the good. Again, I think you are a coward, you certainly aren’t involved, you aren’t part of a solution, the only thing you’ve “done” is criticize. This Mr. Redman is our town, it’s wonderful, we built it, we take pride in it, and we have a sense of ownership for it. You see I have personally laid sod in that park, I’ve strung fence, and I’ve picked weeds and enjoyed it in every phase since it was built. I get to have an opinion because I’ve earned it.
Thank you BGlD, you’re doing a spectacular job. BOBBY REVERT

SOLAR MILLENNIUM

FYI, Solar Millennium just announced  that the solar energy facility they are hoping to build in the Amargosa Valley in Nevada will now be done with “dry cooling” technology.  This is an important step as building such projects with the water-intensive “wet cooling” technology they originally planned is simply ecologically untenable in this region.  The Center for Biological Diversity submitted detailed comments to the BLM opposing the wet cooling technology due to its threats to threatened and endangered fish and plants at the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, and the Amargosa toad which the Center petitioned for listing under the Endangered Species Act.  We are pleased that Solar Millennium  responded to our concerns in this positive fashion.  While the devil is in the details, and there are still some unsettled tortoise mitigation issues with regard to the project, this is promising step in the right direction.

Valley Electric Association Reinstates Domestic Solar Water Heating Program

November 18, 2009

Pahrump, NV― Valley Electric Association (VEA) has reinstated its Domestic Solar Water Heating (DSWH) program effective November 17, 2009 after successfully working through the permitting and inspection requirements with the Nye County Commissioners and the Nye County Manager.

At the regular Nye County Commissioners’ meeting on November 3, 2009, Resolution 2009-59 was passed, whereby the commissioners resolved to support VEA in the DSWH program by waiving the fees and directing Nye County staff to assist VEA contractors in the development of a streamlined inspection and self-certification program. Since that time, VEA and Nye County staff have finalized and agreed upon all requirements.

“I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this collaboration with the Nye County Commissioners and Manager,” said Tom Husted, Valley Electric CEO. “I believe this is a reflection of how the private sector and government can work together for the benefit of the community.”

BTAB MEETING

This was election night for the two openings on the Board. Erika Gerling was elected to replace Mike Lasorsa (Chairman), who chose not to run and Theresa Sullivan retained her seat. (by 9 close votes)
