BUTCH BORASKY CRIES FOUL

Butch made some desperate calls to the signers of his recall petition and convinced enough of them to have their names removed from the petition to make the recall invalid. Butch apparently told the signers that it would cost $30,000 to recall him. According to my source the actual cost would be less than $10,000. RECALLS-R-US will now have to regroup and start again.

I don’t like the dam at Fluorspar road, but every year, the water dries up and the wash below the road is dry.  It may have happened earlier this year because of the dam, but it would have happened.

LETTER TO BOB REDLAND

Over the past few weeks, I've read your letters on Cook's paper. You know Bob, if that is your real name, nobody seems to know you. All I read is all the negatives you write about the Town Park and the BGID Board members and employees. I have lived on this town for over 40 years, before we even had a park. The people of this community and their kids got together and made a park. It was pretty damn nice. Over the years we've had good BGID Boards and not so good boards. We've had good employees and not so good employees. But it seems to we all get together and get things done.

Over the past few months, I have seen a big improvement, as I live kitty corner from the park. These two young lads, that work for the BGID, are some of the best workers I've seen in a long time. They have made a big improvement. Maybe you never saw it before. So maybe Bob, you might want to attend a BGID meeting. Maybe you could have some good input instead of being negative.

I think the Board is pretty civil. So Bob, stand up and let the people know what you can contribute. Its better to been seen and heard. get out from behind a piece of paper, or an e-mail. Buck-up and become a Beattyite and enjoy the Town. Like I've said; I lived here over 40 years. We've had our ups and downs, yelling matches etc. But it has all been good for the Town and its people. Stick Davis (Ed. Mary Revert sent me photos of the lighting project and I can add that it isn't just hanging a light bulb on a stand. It really is a project. Wait till you see it!)

An elderly gentleman....

Had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%

The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, 'Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.'The gentleman replied, 'Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!'

Greetings from Michigan!

My husband and I were vacationing in Las Vegas last week, and did a lot of sightseeing in the surrounding desert areas.  On Tuesday, we stopped by KC's Outpost on our way back from Death Valley National Park and picked up a copy of the Beatty News.  I just had to write and tell you what a nice visit we had in your town, and the great lunch we had at KC's.

The sign outside promised the best sandwiches in the area, and KC's delivers on its promises.  My husband enjoyed the French bread pizza, and I had the meatball sandwich.  The food was delicious - fresh, hot, homemade, and ample portions.  The staff, especially Carol and Debbie, were kind and friendly.  We even took a few of the jumbo chocolate chip cookies back to our hotel to enjoy that evening.

Now it's back to reality, and the blustery days of fall have arrived in Michigan.  It's hard to believe that just a few days ago I was enjoying the hot desert breezes, and this evening we have a frost advisory!

I just wanted you to know that our afternoon in Beatty was a pleasant vacation memory, and if we ever get back there again, we'll be sure to stop by KC's Outpost.  In these days of "hurry up," and "fast food," their friendly service and great food were most welcome.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION

A MESSAGE FROM LORAINE EASTMAN Beatty Water & Sanitation

On my last billing notes on the water bills, I misquoted the date of the homecoming for the Beatty Hornets as October 16th. I should have said the 9th. There will be a parade, game and dance. For details, call the school.
