$17/month ATT SCAM ! When I got my phone bill this month, I noticed a $14.95 charge on it. It was titled, Enhanced Services Billing Inc. I called AT&T to inquire as to it’s reason. The lady (after I went through the gobbledegook recording), told me that it was not their billing. She also said that she did not know what it was and that this company had placed this charge on my bill. I asked how this could be that some unknown person could make AT&T collect money for them. She said that they could do that. I called ESBI and again, waded through their recording finally getting a real person (probably Pakistani) and I asked what was the bill for. It turned out to be for voice mail service. I explained that I had not ordered it and wanted it removed whereupon she said that I had ordered it in April. I again insisted that I had not ordered it and she finally said that she would remove it from my bill. I then insisted that they refund all moneys they had charged and after a little persuasion she agreed to refund my money. Question; how did this happen? ESBI, apparently, arbitrarily notifies AT&T to bill and they comply, no questions asked (AT&T gets a cut, of course, so isn’t about to complain) This is another example of what can happen there is no one watching. This is the Quinn Mill in 1946. The owner (Bud Quinn) is pictured on the very left. Jimmy’s Weeks Mom is the third person from Bud. The man standing in front of the window, with three lights, is Clyde Barcus, the mill operator and in the center of the doorway is Jimmy’s Dad, Homer Weeks who (along with some others) operated the Senator Stewart Mine (Rhyolite)and delivered ore to this mill for processing. It was hoped that other mines would deliver their ore to the mill but, according to Jimmy, not enough and the mill closed because of economics and became what you see in the lower photo (photo courtesy of Jimmy Weeks) Ed. You can see this site at the “Pond” I just love this photo and, if I try hard, I can look at the lower photo and visualize what it must have been like 60 years ago. |

AN OPEN LETTER TO DOG HATERS Most of the time, when I take the boy’z for a walk, it is in the desert. There are times when I walk them downtown. When I do, they will make deposits along the way. I have had two complaints in nine years, so it really isn’t a problem but, I feel it is necessary to point out to these two people, (who do not have dogs, by the way) that I do everything for the boy’z. There are my family and so I resent people complaining about them, as people with children would also. I will not carry a “pooper scooper’ to pick up their deposits. I leave them for nature to decompose and eliminate. A few years ago, at least it seems to me that it was, the big cities had street cleaners for the deposits left by horses and then went to mechanical sweepers. Every once in a while, I see a street sweeper doing the same thing. I, unlike most people, like to see dogs on the loose. I see Bobby Reverts German Shepherd loose all the time. I worry that he will not make it home one day but, that is Bobby’s concern.
